wolfgangarnold 142 Posted September 1, 2012 with the late afternoon light you're creating an atmosphere of warmth and timely distance (the look reminding of old photographs) which is complemented by softly ondulating hills. The trunk which rather seems to grow donwards into the earth than opposite is the pivotal element around which the whole scene seems to revolve. For it's interrupting force I like this photo most from this impressive series (2nd is Val d'Orcia (2) which I like for it's abstractness). Link to comment
alfbailey 2 Posted September 2, 2012 The nearside textures are almost tangible and give way to the very aptly described by Wolfgang, "undulating hills". The nearside tree kind of puts you right there at the scene, and its easy to imagine feeling the warmth of the sun and walking amongst the grass. A lovely scene!Best Regards Alf Link to comment
alexdumitru 1 Posted September 4, 2012 Amazing view and light! My only suggestion would be to crop out the bland sky tight to the level of the peaks on the horizon: This would help the viewer stay focused in the bottom third of the frame, where all the dramatic light is.Best regards, Alex Link to comment
