Here is a resized version of the original file.  The camera was apparently metering in large part off the huge thunderstorm, which was blazing white from the sun directly behind me.

I used Shadows/Highlights in Photoshop to brighten the foreground, among other post-processing procedures (including cropping and using unsharp mask at a radius of 1 and a quantify of 85 or possibly higher).

the post is a little strange/sharpened/bleached looking.  i'd try a lot of recovery, letting the top blow out a little to get natural-looking lightness at the bottom.  best, j

i can easily imagine that, but the corn does not look like anything from our universe.  best, j

Well, the corn is well past its prime and withering away.

Still, I confess that these shots, given the wonderful light, were something of a disappointment.

Landrum,   It's great to see the commonplace turned into effective, artistic images.  Nice work.  Looking at the image "large" it is apparent that you have a white line right above the trees in the background.  Can you figure out how to remove it?  If you can, I'd appreciate your letting me know; I have had the same problem with some images.  Thanks.  Larry

Thanks, Larry.

As for the line, Larry, I don't see a line.  Is is horizontal or vertical?  I have assumed from your description that it is horizontal, but I don't see anything like that either on the posted version or on the original file before it was cropped or otherwise manipulated.

Can you tell me a bit more about where it is and what you are seeing?   For example, is it one pixel wide or is it a larger band?

Could you post an example of one of your own photos to a separate thread so that others can see what you are talking about, or perhaps comment on what you apparently actually do see?

Could it conceivably be a monitor issue?

Surely if you are seeing it, other viewers or users of this camera are seeing it as well.
