Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 24, 2012 I'm always impressed by the breadth of your work. You seem to move through different genres with ease, always with a superb eye for the possibilities of the moment. Here we have less a dichotomy than a union of paired opposites symbolized by the light/dark diagonal. Link to comment

gordonjb 10,860 Posted August 25, 2012 Riding into the light ... stepping into the darkness. A masterful fusion of light, geometry and humanity. An open ended story, presented with your usual high standards and attention to detail. Simply wonderful! Link to comment
marek_grzelczak1 0 Posted August 25, 2012 Apart from technical excellence (see comments above), I really like this timeless character of this image. It could happened equally well in late 50's or maybe yesterday. Great!! Link to comment
DGorinstein 20 Posted August 26, 2012 Superb image, in the best tradition of classical photography. Masterful management of lights and shadows. Nothing can be added to a great image, preserving a moment in time. Congratulations and thanks for sharing.DG Link to comment

sidselto 0 Posted August 26, 2012 I like this one. Even though they are both moving, the photo gives an impression of calmness. The B&W is superb.Sidsel Link to comment
cyanatic 0 Posted August 30, 2012 Man oh man, what an image. The different directions, that angle of shadow, the two modes of transport, the barred window, the tattered posters...I could describe all day and not get at how this image feels. I often (too often) comment on people's images and mention famous photographers that their image reminds me of. I do not want to do that here. I'll just say I find it wonderful and intriguing and leave it at that. Link to comment
3m 0 Posted September 1, 2012 Hi Gunnar, Echoing Steve above... & Just wanted to let you know as well that you have a real winner here.. Beautifully observed, and executed indeed. Very strong photo! Link to comment
Bachir 0 Posted September 28, 2012 Gunnar,Just impressive in so many ways, a high quality classic and I couldn't imagine it in colour, I think this is really made for black and white and all the elements within are perfectly arranged in proportions and superbly balanced. It's full of interesting details like that newspaper in that triangle of shade but what catches me most is perhaps the notion of two ordinary men going opposite ways and being transfixed in time. Awesome! Link to comment
human images 4 Posted January 31, 2015 in addition to generous wit, I love the surefooted light play of your work Gunnar, the precise elegant geometry you bring to your art --- this is a beauty! Link to comment
