These seed pods (?) of a plant are quite interesting and I like the rear ones being out of focus.  My feeling is the foreground image comes across as a bit soft.  I played with clarity and sharpness, perhaps too much, but it gives you an idea of a whole range of slightly different variations possible.

I process pictures pretty gently now, but perhaps a little too gently, as you say. I worked up another one from the same day for you. Thanks Jerry. best, jamie

Never sharp enough, it's accepted by me as your unique style! Otherwise, this specific one doesn't need sharpness at all! For example what would it look with sharp background! Well done my best friend!

Yes, Dave, it did work really well. Amazing lens, the Vivitar Series One 90/2.5 macro. One of just two lenses I have kept for the Canon system. Thanks again.
