For centuries, people have visited the hot springs of the Tamina gorge

to experience the overwhelming nature and to cure their diseases in

therapeutic baths.

This is a different processing of a photo I submitted earlier.

Thanks for your time and for your critical comments. Karl

I haven't seen your previous photo you mention. This one works for me because of the strange colors of your post processing, all except for the more "natural" color of the stone at the very top of the cave. That is, the sepia tone of the people at left and the pale green color of the water and center of the cave are of very interesting shades, while the top rock seems to break the overall balance and mood of the cave. All said, it is a very good image.

Thanks Daniel, Nelson, Jeff and Jack for your comments. This is the right place to be on a hot day like it is today in Switzerland.

The light of this photo comes from two sources: It is from the sunrays reaching the bottom of the narrow gorge and illuminating the water and the wapor of the hot springs and reflecting on the right wall. And it is from electric bulps, lighting the path and the persons on it. In the original photo this light is strongly yellow. In this photo I desaturated the yellow parts of the left side. Other than this there is no color processing applied here, it is the "natural color" I got from the original photo with automatic white balance.

The photo is a blend of four pictures differently processed from one RAW file. This gives a better detail quality than the first photo of this gorge I submitted ten days ago that was based on one RAW processing.

Jeff, yes, this is the version I like most. It is, what it is, the result of a handheld photo, shot in a very precarious shooting position, with ISO 3200, under amazing but very challenging lighting conditions

Next time I would: bring the tripod, construct a bridge to position the camera, ask the persons to stay exactly at the right place in a moving position and shoot a bracket series of 7 frames with different exposer at a lower ISO level... But then, probably the light and the vapour would not fit anymore....

i AM THINKING ABOUT AUTO BRACKET ON CONTINUOUS HIGH SPEED SHUTTER  - 3 OR 5 IMAGES. With Photoshop or other software it does not matter if the people move a bit.

This is a very artistic presentation of the place. The different sources of lights are very evident ,and PP is wonderful. The people are nice, but the photo is nice without them as well.

Thanks for your explanation .!
