Leaf Study 4

Interesting leaf macro, even though leaf macros are somewhat of a cliche. This one captures my attention because of your choice of exposure. The darkness gives an overpowering feeling of doom and makes me stop thinking of the subject as the surface of a leaf. It's not much of a stretch to imagine this being a weathered hand (wrist out of frame on top right) -- what doom and gloom does it foretell! Nice depth due to effective lighting. Well composed with lines leading to and accentuating the strong diagonal vein. The dark detail-less shadows are key to this image.
