The bird and foreground elements contrast really well with the blurred backdrop, and the detail is impressive at 500 mm.  You mention the weather as being "chilly" but the image gives the impression of being warm. I think you could crop both right and left by 1/10 vertically to give greater focus on the bird, but I have to say it also looks good as it is.
