Excellent work! You have created a wonderful abstract, a great composition, and I have to say that I can't think of a thing that would make it any better!

I like the whimsy, beauty of form and enigma that is communicated in this image.  In fact I wanted to see more in the darker reaches of your photo and wondered if it held any surprises if I sought more shadow detail in your image. So I hope you don't mind that I was very curious to look for more detail by using my simple Photoshop Elements and the accompanying modified (shadows opened up) image.

While that yields more of the smoke patterns, it also becomes less interesting I think as the forms and lines become too hard edged. Result: your unaltered original is very fine, and I can only repeat my original appreciation.

Thanks. I understand your curiosity and appreciate your attempt. I suggest you try capture smoke by yourself and see where this will lead you.

I used a black bedcover as backdrop and set the camera on a tripod with focus fixed at where the smoke would be. (took a few tries). For light i used an old Metz flash CT-45 - can be bought cheap all over and lit the smoke directly.

Smoke source was at first a cigarette but later i used incense sticks.
