svend erik poulsen 0 Posted August 24, 2012 On a clear night mid august i went on a quest to capture a shooting star during the perceides meteor shower. From a previous trial I knew the moon were rising and was going to ruin my shoot. So i used the grave of Hamlet to mask the moon - you can see the backlighting on this shot. Well i got a fair startrail photo but no shooting star. Is this a failure..... You decide Link to comment
hoosier 0 Posted August 24, 2012 The clever concept and composition at such a romantic settling add up to an exceptionally cool image. My only suggestion might be to very slightly diminish the brightness and saturation of the stone and grass, to enhance the moonlight. Best Regards, Jerry King Link to comment
jim_j2 9 Posted August 24, 2012 Svend,Not a failure at all!Very interesting and very well done in my opinion! Although I might agree with Jerry a bit about enhancing the backlighting from the moon just a bit. At least it would be worth a try. Still, . . . a wonderful image!Regards always,Jim j. svend erik poulsen 0 Posted August 24, 2012 I do see your point. The moon was not as big a problem as I feared. You might notice a few clouds rolled in that night and I was afraid it would ruin the entire shoot. And the flash on the stone should be toned down a few notches. Thanks for your time and your comments./ Svend Erik Link to comment
