Rip Some Curl

This is a great action shot with outstanding definition. I love the angle of capture and whilst at first sight I thought he was going down the image, he is in fact flying out the top.

All reference to colour, lighting and definition..... top notch.

very nice, dynamic composition

Thank you all very much! But I give most credit to my equipment: 5D Mk3, with the Canon 400mm lens. Finally a full frame camera I can afford that can capture action.  Also, I was able to stand on a pier (at Oceanside, CA). All I do is point and shoot, the AI focus does the rest. By the way, I didn't crop the top; it came out that way, and I was lucky to have not lost the edge of the board. (oh, yeah, a bit of PS magic applied post, too. S'all good.

I am happy to report that this image took second in a show in Sacramento, and earned some money, too. It's nice to get some material rewards now and then! And to get some love for the action photography I love as much as the "art" stuff.

This is a SUPER shot. Everything is great! Colours, details, sharpness...a 7 from me! 

Thank you so much for your comment. This image will be in the Michael Kellicutt International Photo Show in Half Moon Bay, CA in July and August, and then the show moves to Calumet camera in San Francisco for another month. I am very happy that more people will see it.

Took a third place and sold at the reception! Almost paid for my trip down there. But I got some other shooting in and, who knows, maybe next year's entry.

Wow! I am so excited to have won the member's choice award for the sports contest! The GoPro camera is going to be so much fun!
