My Grandaughter Shaelyn is much like her Mom. Has a beautiful big

heart and the sensitivity of an 'old Soul'. She was only able to get to

know my Mom while she was very weak. From conversations with

her, I am amazed how much she wanted to see her, even though

she knew what may happen any day. Because of 'life

circumsstances' she was not able to see much of her family in the

past, but now that is very different. She has an overwhelming 'need'

to see and just be in the 'presence' of 'Family', especially those who

are getting older. She loves being in the company of my Dad (Great

Grandfather), and while she asks to visit him, she doesn't often say a

lot (a bit shy). But I think as she is in his company more, she will feel

more comfortable. She already seems to realize that 'time' is

precious. I put the Butterfly in this composition because when she is

out walking or hiking in the woods, or just out for a walk for that

matter, when a butterfly goes by, she either thinks it is my dear

Auntie Edna who passed before Mom, or my Mom just flying around

her to let her know they are there. Somehow it seems to comfort her.

(your visits and shared thoughts are always welcome and

appreciated, most sincerely, Gail)

Ohhh Gail, I was drown to this picture the first moment I saw it, it's perfect. Tender and full of feelings. Love the yellow warm color, the eyes and the focus on the flower and a tender butterfly in the corner. It's a master-peace!

Congratulations!

Love, Ulla

A very meaningful image. After reading the story behind this photo the more I understand why this was created and the elements just fall right into place. The butterfly particularly because I also could remember my grand old folks that every time a butterfly hoovers inside our old house before, they would say that the butterfly symbolizes one already gone before them.

This is a very poignant image and what is more important for me is how you put in this image the vision of what you wanted to depict.

I could "feel" what this photo means. Excellent, Gail

You love all that is beautiful it seems and in so doing, when you take an image, or see one where you see beauty, it does not take you long to make a connection. Lovely sentiments Lester of your grand old folks. I did not know that the connection with 'butterflies' was something others felt also. I enjoy the thoughts you share and the sincerity you put into each sentence. Thankyou Lester for your thoughtfulness.
