Unfortunaely for this shot of Travis Good, who does Vocals, Guitar

and Fiddle for the 'Sadies', my POV was such that I could not get his

feet into the shot. I was behind a few people and managed to

squeeze to the right, but this was the best I could do. I decided to

edit in Black and White with a bit of a Grainy Grunge effect. The

Group seems to suit this 'styling'. They will be entertaining Downtown

this Saturday during a day long Celebration of Music with quite a few

bands. They are calling it the 'Hootenanny on Hunter'. A few streets

will be closed down, with Food Vendors, a Skateboarding Demo, a

Breakaway Ball Hockey Tourney (in Support of Breast Cancer), a

Retail Village, Dance Exhibitions, and I imagine a whole lot more. It

was a big Success last year with lots of fun had by all. Hopefully our

forecasted rain will change to Sunshine! Everyone is eager to 'hang

onto' summer as long as we can! (your visits are most welcome as

are your comments, many thanks Gail)

I think an old guy like me would like the ribs better than the music but it is a cool treatment nonetheless!

Great processing in the B&W version! Really great. 2011 I see. For a minute Gail I thought I was back in ghe 1960s at some sort of "happening"!

Thankyou both for always dropping by, sharing your thoughts on my images. One day I will do better black and white, but for now, I figure I should at least try.

What great processing and look for this photo. I like the effect and composition. About the only suggestion I could make is include his feet but this is so minor that it isn't even worth mentioning in this instance.

As usual Gail, great work here.

Yeh, I mentioned in the commentary that I was not in a great POV to get his feet, I'm very short and a few people were in front of me. I squeezed around and this was the best I could capture. The stage was higher than me ;-) unfort. there are a few disadvantages to being short! Many thanks Joseph for your kind remarks. Truly appreicated.

Thankyou both for your kind words and support. The lighting in this image was not good re: time of day. There was a stage light on his guitar, was trying to remedy that. Plus with not doing much black and white I opted for a grungy look. I found it had more contrast and I could not adjust is. I will try another conversion method- many thanks for your visits and support!

Thankyou for your interest in this image! While Ribs were served all evening-most of the folks at the concert had already eaten.. however there were  tables and chairs set up for those still wishing to eat. The ribs were delicious! It's good to hear you enjoyed this 'treatment' on the image. Many thanks for your support GungaJim!

The processing looks great! Bill (William) described this very eloquently as reminding him of an ink print in a book and thats exactly the first impression that hit me too. I love the highlight details and contrasting deep shadows, its one of those images that I yearn to view larger.  Very well done Gail!

Best Regards

Hello Gail, Grainy grunge effect, I love it. So cool, this image is almost surreal. The bars around him frame him and makes it somewhat artistic IMHO. Nice work.

Best,

Holger

I have been having a bit of trouble lately with sizing. When I do an upright shot like this, I find it is usually too big for those who would be viewing on a Laptop, and I know it is annoying to 'scroll' just to see an image. But it looked so much better large. Now I am not sure if I enter it even larger, if it will enlarge to a 'viewable'  size. I have to look that info up. Many thanks for those lovely words, Alf
