I took my daughter and her 2 children to our local Zoo yesterday. It

was hot and humid, but it was a nice distraction for them before

coming home for a 'barby' with their Great Grandad whom they don't

see often. It's difficult to get many images there. It is FREE to go

there and they take care of things quite well. But they rely on

Donations for most of the work. Up till now the animals, bird and

reptiles are either behind chain link fence, or in indoor enclosures

(visitors look through glass). There is another fence before the chain

link for safety, so even then, getting an image without a bit of blur

from the chain link is a bit difficult. I used a few images for this

compositon, but the main one was of a Turtle having his 'way' with

one of the females. The kids didn't quite believe me when I said they

were trying to play 'leap frog'. They couldn't contain their laughter

each time the male let out his little 'grunt'. But he did seem to be

wearing a 'smile' when he dismounted. My daughter got a good

capture of that! (your visits and comments are always welcome,

many thanks, Gail)

Marvelous creation! Gail, I could imagine what was running in your mind as you were creating this fantastic image. Your creativity amazes me and it takes a lot of imagination to come up with this.

Excellent!

Manythanks Richard for your thoughts on this image. I really had a difficult time deciding whether to post it. Seems the ones that I 'feel' that way about, I seem to receive a better 'reception' of the image.

Actually Lester, and it most often happens this way, I begin to layer my images, adjust opacities and blending modes, and voila' sometimes the resulting image 'surprises' even me. It is at that point I decide if I want to continue, then add other or parts, of other images, what to leave in or take out etc. There is a TV program that I like to watch called 'Citys of the Underworld'. You probably get it in the States as well. I am not usually a 'dark' person, but this image and the resulting 'faces' had me transfixed a bit.  Thankyou for sharing your thoughts and especially offering encouragement Lester, I do appreciate it very much.

Got nightmares?  This is so alien that I can't look at it for long...which means you've done a good job.  Aloha.

It took a bit of studying to work this out , it does look like something from another planet . I like the face bottom centre ! Interesting and creative piece of work . You seem to work the opposite way to me , I get an idea and then try to figure out how to do it , although like you I get happy accidents ! I wonder what responses it would get if it was printed and displayed ? Excellent compositing . Bill

Many thanks for your visit, and sharing your Creative Process! Actually there are times when I think ahead, and work a 'composition' from the other direction. There are times when I just like to 'fiddle' and see what 'magic' occurs, one never knows! THANKS for the 'snap' of the girl's , the little one does look like her Great Granpa a bit! Lovely shot of them both Bill.

It kind of creeps me out too, I am always amazed what the combinaitons and messing with  perspective of images will render, like that face at the bottom, go figure!!! But once I had found it, kind of couldn't just let it be. No, not any nightmares yet!

My sincere thanks for visiting Jim, I hope you are enjoying a pleasant summer!!! so nice to hear from you. I guess sometimes different and wierd can be OK. I usually don't like to do images that are so 'dark'.

Thankyou for commenting Paul. Yes this is a 'darker side', but not a secret side of me, at this point in my processing I saw an image that was very interesting, yet 'wierder', than I usually do, but I kind of liked it. Glad you enjoyed it Paul!
