An elegant image with a wonderful expression of this sophisticated gentelman! To me is a 7/7. The catch light in the eyes and the contrast are perfect. The separation from the back ground is just right. When I reach his age I am going to you for a large dignify portrait!!! He! He! Warm regards my friend.

I love this image Bill - such rich black tones. The glasses and hat tie in so well , and his silvery beard is a lovely accent. Nice work!

Hi William - I can't really ad more to what has been said about this image. But it's such a striking image with perfect lighting and mono conversion - I just had to say it. Thanks for this - regards, Morne.

I really like the lighting and B & W's of this portrait.  Its very interesting to compare with the similar colour photo.  The different mood a pair of sunglasses and the B & W tones can evoke is remarkable.  The colour version looks so warm and friendly, and whilst the eyes are friendly in the B & W version, there is an aura of quiet authority about him. It gives the distinct impression of a figurehead, someone in complete control. Beautifully communicated !

Best Regards

This one plays right to my preference of B&W for people portraits.  I do prefer this one to your similar colour version.  The low key & dark glasses work well for this subject with dark clothing.  The only thing I'd like to see is a small highlight on the hat to prevent it's merging with the dark background.  Think the poster for the movie 'Unforgiven' with Clint Eastwood.  Best, LM.

I was trying to pick one image of your collection of portraits to comment. Failed. All of your portraits are very nice, excellent lighting, fantastic collection of characters, masterfully arranged movement and poses. So, . . . I picked the first one. Hats of to you sir.
