sideris 0 Posted July 30, 2012 Perhaps it's an excessively small render. You tell me. Link to comment
stp 6 Posted July 30, 2012 The contrast is pretty high, and it seems that the foreground grabs most of the viewer's attention, which is unfortunate because it's the least interesting part of the frame. Still, it's an interesting way to render a landscape. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted July 31, 2012 Thank you very much for your time and your critique, I appreciate it very much because of your recognized skills as a photographer. I will take it in account. My (defeated) intentions were try to capture the solitude and desolation of the barren steppe under the blinding summer sun. I guess I must still trying to get it. Thanks again! Link to comment

stp 6 Posted July 31, 2012 Carlos, considering your intention, for my eyes the foreground is perhaps too strong -- it grabs my eyes and doesn't "allow" me to fully explore and be impressed by the vastness of the landscape behind it. It's commonly understood that the eyes are drawn to the brightest part of the frame, but here that doesn't seem to apply, at least for my eyes. I do like the aspect ratio you've chosen considering your stated intention. Link to comment
sideris 0 Posted July 31, 2012 I am really honored by your time spent on my humble job. Today I will work on this photo, cropping a bit the foreground in order to give more protagonism to the background and achieving the sense I am looking for, Perhaps some tests about the final result can be useful, I will post it for critique. Thank you again! Link to comment
