Hot and humid again today, hardly a breeze, but I still ventured out

into the backyard to see 'who' I could find. I almost missed this fella. I

have not yet identified him yet, so I don't know if he is a good or bad

insect to have in your garden. At first I thought he might be a firefly

also, but his feet are very different, legs almost reminded me of

those of a Lady Bug at Larvae Stage. He was on the edge of a

concrete deck block. I picked him up on a small piece of Cedar

Mulch and decided to use the Picnic Table under the Gazebo to get

some captures. He was very small. I don't know if he'd even measure

1/4". I will post a small version of part of the original where you see a

Werthers Original Candy Wrapper. The 'e and r' in Werthers

measures not quite 3/8", that may help with giving you an idea of

size. (thanks for any visits and comments, most sincerely, Gail)

Thanks Chuck. he sure was and I took a lot of shots. Was determined to capture his face, still not sure if I did. I had set the piece of cedar mulch on the candly to raise  him up. That way I could rest the lens hood on the table to make things more steady. Found it really touch today 'handholding' to get an image in focus. Thanks for your visit Chuck, much appreciated.

Beautiful strong colors Gail, but he's really tinny. Very nice capture!

Hi Gail, That comparison shot is very interesting and I'm glad you showed us because it really sized up the image for me. Initially I thought thats a pretty good size beetle. The clarity and detail in this is very good and you should be glad you went out on this hot and humid day. Hey you never know. Take care.

BR,

Holger

There are so many little critters that I am sure I pass by everyday, and probably some it is just as well as I do! But my little 'hunts' are interesting. Thanks for your visit Maurizio!
