Herring Gull (Larus argentatus)

This photo was shot on the ferry between Den Helder and Texel, the

Netherlands. It sat behind the bars and those bars seemed to frame it's

head nicely.

Any comment on this pho is welcome!

This is an interesting capture and the diffused rails and background help to isolate the headshot well.

I notice that you have PS software, and recommend that you try a little sharpening on your images (in general) and on this one, some darkening of the light areas to bring out a little more definition in the chest plumage.

From an in-camera perspective, you might like to consider using "spot" AF which would have "popped" this image.
