Flower power

From my first ever batch of macro shots. Critique, ratings and

feedback even more welcome than normal. Thank you !

 

Tried to keep the outer petal colour out of focus, to draw attention

to the inner rings and center. Cropped to fit center of flower in

upper third. I found that leaving part of the flower out of the

frame was more asthetically pleasing than keeping it all in.

Very eye catching. Magenta is pretty against the greens and yellows. Great use of macro (I presume...)

The shot layout is good too - off centered and disecting the seed pod. I like it.

I was thinking "Tye-Dye" the minute I saw this photo, THEN I saw your caption! :) This photo is gorgeous with all of the colors you captured -I feel as though I have never viewed a flower this intensely. I also love the crop. The one aspect that I could be critical of is that I have to look deeply at it to see the "3-Dness" of the flower. (Perspective? Hey, I am an amature lacking the technical vocab..)
