The sun was about a half hour before setting and a storm was brewing

in the nearby mountains. It doesn't get much better than this for

photographers.

I love this photo, excellent work.  If I had been there and took another shot I might have stooped down a foot or two closer to the ground and pointed the camera up a couple degrees, but then I'd lose some of the pattern of the sand dunes, so its a toss up.

Bad weather really is good for photography, and this is a good example.  Imagine this with no clouds -- it wouldn't have been nearly as effective.  Reuben makes a good point; I prefer the higher angle that better reveals the patterns in the "sand."  Nice work.
