It appears the local rural municipality ran out of red paint and letters, so it

is anyone's guess what to do at this crossroads. Thanks for viewing.

Maybe they just assume everyone will stop to admire the view anyway : - )  or could it be that the sun and wind have conspired to fade the letters, if there ever were any?  Either way, I admire your keen observation.

Best Regards

Hi Alf,

Thank you for commenting; it gave me the opportunity to visit your impressive landscapes, as I spend too much time on the discussion forums (philosophy ofphotography, etc.) and not enough in portfolios or critiques. My favourite to date is your "Glide", which has a feeling beyond its evident chromatic and compositional qualities.

Public roads in Canada are a bit more substantial than this farmer's road, about 3 or 4 kilometers from my home and the site of our occasional bike rides. Why the municipality (or more likely, the farmer) has posted a halt sign I'm not sure, and like you say, it looks like an unfinished project, with the base paint now crackled like a historic painting before renovation.
