A huge white Dragonfly

I really like this shot - the subject was being very cooperative. I

know there are lots of dragonflies on this board, but what do y'all

think of this one? I think the background looks really cool and the

color is neat. Not to mention the gigantic rad-looking dragonfly! I

only wish the wings showed up a little better.

Very cool shot, great sharp focus on the dragonfly and wings. I do think the background is distracting with its bright colors and still-distinguishable shapes and objects; if the background were an out-of-focus wash of color the dragonfly would stand out more clearly. If I'm not mistaken, this is a challenge with digital cameras since their lenses tend to have short physical focal lengths, regardless of their 35mm equivalent focal lengths, which means you sometimes get more DOF than you really want. This is an enjoyable shot in any case.
