This is the juvenile female that was a little cautious in coming down for seed. Her full plumage will evolve in time, but not as vividly as the male.

Hi Grayham, what beautiful colours even for a juvenile. Really lovely viewed larger. Kind regards Louise

Interesting shot - and subject!  From a purely photographic standpoint, the bird blends into the background a bit - perhaps a longer focal length and some post processing would help :)  Thanks for sharing!

Lovely to hear from you. Hopefully, these two will become regular visitors so we can watch her mature into full plumage. Thank you for your kind comments..........

Best regards

Thanks for stopping by. As I mentioned, I was playing with my new camera body when this one flew in, so it was a bit of a "grab" shot with my 70-200mm.... shot at max focal length. I put on the matched 2x after this one. I use PSE very little.... mainly for cropping if necessary and resizing for PN. With the severe cropping of this image, I am pleasantly surprised at the lack of grain (noise)........ quality lens and sensor I guess.

Thanks for your comments..........

Best regards
