This is a fine photo. The problem with it, perhaps, that it is a relatively common bird (at least in some places and in photography circles) and a relatively common composition. For it to really standout, it may need superb technical execution (sharper feather detail) or a more unusual behavior (ruffled feathers, prey in beak, etc.) As it is posted, I would try to sharpen it a bit.

M. Hayward, thanks for your comments. In general I agree with your comments and I'm working on learning this Lightroom and sharpening business. Is this one better?
