Oregon Dune National Park

A shot taken in the national Dune Park in Oregon. We got there as the sun

was setting, and managed to get some wide shots like this, as well as

some abstracts. A very beautiful area. Let me know what you think of

very nice, i  especially like the contrast between what looks like a patch of evergreen forest and the aridness of the dunes in the foreground. I have always been interested in the wave lines in wind swept dunes, these are no exception. what is particularly nice here though is the rockey texture, and shadows in the mid ground.  My only critique would be the composition. I think you could have been as successful if not more with less foreground...though it looks like the sky that day wasnt very interesting.

Thanks for your comments Christopher and Alan.  Christopher, you are right that the sky did not offer much in the way of interest, and this is why I cropped a lot of it out when I framed the image.  Alan, I did not warm up this image at all.  The sun was pretty low in the sky at the time I captured this image, thus warming everything up quite a bit.  Thanks to both of you for the insightful comments.  Take care.
