I wouldn't necessarily say it's an improvement, just a different feel. This one feels more a study of shape, color, and composition. It's cleaner, with less street distractions, more an idealized view. The other has a little more sense of street but I could see where some of the elements of the other one would be a distraction for some viewers and this more tidy, concise version will appeal more to many. Me, I can go either way, depending on what it is you're after.

I think the exaggerated blue of the sky works well, in terms of what you seem to be after here, which is an almost primal feel to the white of the buildings and the other primary colors being used. It's stark and definitely catches the eye. The leading line of the pathway works well between the two buildings also. My only question would be about the clouds, which seem to have taken on a lot of the blue of the sky and I wonder if there wouldn't be some value in having maintained those clouds as more white, going along with the stark contrasts you've already got here.

Thank you for a most interesting and detailed critique. In a new version I would have removed the clouds.

Best regards
