Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 8, 2012 This tree, the northern white pine, only grows naturally in NorthCarolina in the mountains--further north, it grows all the way down tosea level. It does very well in the Piedmont of the Carolinas as anornamental. Comments welcome.--Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 8, 2012 Among the Iroquois, it is known as the Tree of Peace. I always loved the way the limbs seemed to be flying like wings when one sees it in the wild as a mature tree. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/48/Pinus_strobus_trees.jpg --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 8, 2012 Here is the original file from which this was cropped. Can you see which part of the original was cropped and blown up? HINT: Look at the twigs at top left in the cropped version. --Lannie Link to comment
Landrum Kelly 64 Posted July 8, 2012 Here is an easier one to find--with all the curved branches! This 100% crop is unprocessed, as most are unless otherwise noted. --Lannie Link to comment
