I've been listening to some music from my 'Music Library' this

evening, and although I had chosen another name for this

Composition, the song that was playing, as it has many times before,

moved me very deeply. The song 'Hallelujah' was written by Leonard

Cohen, and a favorite in the Broadway Play "Les Miserables'. The

version of the song I am listening to is sung by K.D. Lang, and I think

it is the most beautiuful song she has ever sung. I have not always

been a fan of all her work, but the first time I heard her sing this

song, 'I Wept'. Weeping now, tears trickle down my cheeks and land

upon my - now 'soggy' t-shirt. I am not sad, I am just deeply, deeply

moved. I am not ashamed to admit this at this very moment, for I am

so grateful that I am 'just this human'. (thankyou for any visits,

humbly, Gail)

Very nice image. I see your incorporation of texture, maybe from wallpaper? Well done and original.

thanks so much for your visit Chuck. The layers are a combination of images of Paper and Fabric. I am trying to build up a Library of as many textures I can. The possibilities are endless. And then you have Blend Modes and Opacities to work with also. Just 'scratching the surface' so far. One day I hope to be as skillful as you at layers etc. Many thanks for your visit and time Chuck.

So glad you liked this image. It was one where the detail on the left was more pronounced, and the the other side blurred more. I decided to use a few textures and blending modes to see what I could do. 'It's nice to be a 'favorite'. ;-) Gail

It does look like a 'watercolour' effect a bit doesn't it, but I just used textures in layers and blending modes, adjusted opacities and erased areas that I did not want. I'm glad you liked the outcome Grigoriy!

The treatment really accentuates the sharpness of the stamens whilst maintaining a faded look, like an old canvas. A delightful subject (Lilys my wifes favourite) and masterful processing!

Great job Gail!

Warm Regards

Lovely flower enhanced by the waterdrops. I am not sure that the treatment and post work is helping in this instance. Thank you for your recent comments. - Charles

Hi Charles, thankyou for dropping by and sharing your thoughts on this image. You may be right about the post treatment. But my main intention, because this image is to be in a 'Card Collection' I am working on, is that I wanted to hide a lot of the DOF. You can see some dark colours on the upper left of the flower, well there were a lot of dark colours on the right also, and I tried different method of trying to fix it and it was just getting too involved. I thought if I tried using a few layers, then I cold alleviate some of the lesser attractive DOF. I do appreciate your input however. Perhaps sometime when I have 'more time' I can try to replace the background. Cheers for now, Gail

Many thanks for your kind remarks Alf, these Lilys were a soft to more enhanced pinky/rose tones. The occassional one appeared almost white. Glad you enjoyed the image. Kind regards,Gail

A very remarkable treatment applied in this flower shot. The subtle colors and selective blurring enhanced the beauty of the flower and its pistils standing out against the blurred background. I also like the paisley design applied.

Very enticing and so attractive. Regards, Gail
