First Light Cape Foulwind

Please view large. I am interested in your opinion of this early

morning capture of Cape Foulwind, New Zealand. Might I do more in

post-processing with the lower right of the image? I want it to have a

dramatic eerie look. Thanks for your input. Larry

I think you have achieved your goal to some extent, but here are a couple of suggestions that may be of some use.  I think if you crop all of the narrow strip of foreground it accentuates the eerie atmosphere more. Also I think a long exposure might have worked here. Smaller aperture, ND6 filter and a tripod? ........not everyones cup of tea of course, but it does help with that look that you are seeking.  I do like the luminescence of this shot its really nice!

Hi Alf,  I did use a tripod and had thought of cropping out the foreground.  I will try the crop.  I too like the luminance in the image.  It makes it. I don't have an ND6 filter; just ND3.  My concern was capturing this light that wouldn't wait for me to fuss with getting out the filter, etc.   Interestingly, the image looks almost identical in either color or B&W.  This is B&W.  Thanks, Alf.  Larry
