Nice photo, but not a Least Sandpiper. I'll have to check what it is when I get home.

Hello Roberto.

Sorry I forgot to get back to you.  Regarding the bird, I admit that I'm a little weak in Sandpipers identification, especially non-breeding plumes.  You might try posting this to the Nature forum and identify the place (Guatemala, correct?)  and time of year the image was taken.

Ok,I've looked through three bird books (Two North America, one Costa Rica) I still don't have a solid id on your bird).  I know it is NOT a Least Sandpiper.
The leg color is wrong for a Willet, the beak color is wrong for a Red Knot.  My best guess is a non-breeding Spotted Sandpiper.

Great image.  Thanks for the puzzle!

I'll admit, an out of breeding Sandpiper is a REAl challenge. However, the 'Common Sandpiper' appears to only be a Eurasian species.  I'm going mostly off that little bit of white on the wing and your location in Central America to help with the id, but I can't say for sure.

You are absolutely right about the location, not likely to find in Central America.  I´ll keep on looking!  A friend has a guide which might help.  I will keep you posted on my findings.

Kindest regards,
