lynnthomas 0 Posted June 25, 2012 You nailed the exposure getting both the shadows and the highlights. Very clear and sharp. Just an excellent portrait. Would love to know if the same background effect is achievable in Lightroom. Link to comment

LineMartel 6,230 Posted June 25, 2012 I have never used lightroom, so I don't know... This is what I did: make copy of background layer; paint using colours from the photo with different paint brushes (you could also use the clone tool with these brushes); apply texture; modify blending mode and opacity to your liking; erase overlap from main subject. There might be better ways to achieve this... I am quite new at photoshop and am learning as I go... So, play with it and have fun!Regards, Line Link to comment
lynnthomas 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Thank you Line. We seem to be at opposite ends here :):) I don't use Photoshop but....now I'm wondering if another software might be able to achieve something similar. I'll have to look into it. I am inspired to try this....especially since a trip to the zoo is planned for when it cools off here and now I have something to work off of. Link to comment
LineMartel 6,230 Posted June 27, 2012 I know what you mean by waiting for it to cool down... I live in the DFW area... Link to comment
