Very impressive work, it's interesting the enviroment behind the subject! Nice eyes expression of the little child!

Beautiful capture, the child's expression is most amusing. And as Sergio mentioned, interesting material behind the woman, you can't miss it. I wonder what life is really like for people here???

The picture needs to be brighten up, in my opinion. Now it is a colourful mess.

The woman's face and of a boy too, is sinking, disappearing.

This is not a portrait, but a documentory, Africa is a colored mess, and I desaturated the image a bit. This lady is the Kunta Kinte family and the newspapers hanging on the wall all have to do with this story (ROOTS). She lives in  poor conditions in the jungle of the Gambia and when guests come, she comes out dressed like a Queen. Her expression reads she is bored by the interest from the "tourists" but sitting there and pretending she is the historic figure she can earn some money her family desperatly needs.... It is actually a very sad theatre.. I needed to show the surroundings too, rather than only her portrait -face. (I have these images as well) .

I agree, Africa is a coloured mess. I think it's not easy to balance all those colours. Personally, I am not attracted with african cultural heritage. It is a land of pain and suffering. I find brave anyone who goes there.
