Donna Stavis 0 Posted June 23, 2012 I like this; it's a bit quirky. In the genre of trains and transportation, one sees such a cross-section. The way he holds the cane, his suit -- loosened at the neck, as he's not in the office -- and his general stance catch one's eye and one might imagine he's one thing on his mind: time. The glimpse of headlines piques curiosity. I like the way the sign "Gentlemen" plays with his image, as he is dressed as a gentleman. Framed nicely with it's own "tracks" leading the eye from this sort of tunnel to the light and other life. A story-telling piece Link to comment

samrat 1 Posted June 24, 2012 Many thanks for your interest in this photo and for your interpretation. Yes, the sign "Gentlemen" did catch my eye and I'm happy I could frame the composition with it included. The man's expression together with the toilet sign does evoke a bit of humour. I like the way you interpreted the newspaper headline and the drain track on the platform; they lend a different angle to the photo. Much appreciated. Link to comment
