Please view this larger. Dunedin, the Gaelic name for Edinburgh, on the

southeast coast of New Zealand's South Island, is a charming Otago

university city with Scottish charm. The building at the end of the street

is the famed railway depot. Please comment. Thanks. Larry

Looks like you had bad weather here, too. It rained so hard while we were there I have only 3 or so not very interesting shots.

Adrienne,  We made the most of rainy Otago.  The major consolation prize was seeing lots of albatrosses.  This majestic bird was a highlight of our entire trip and gave me a new respect for the awe of the oceans.  We took a boat tour around Taiaroa in pelting rain and wind.  I had a tight plastic cover over my camera and in the bouncing and moving boat managed to get off a few shots.  I did get one that I think is decent, although not artistic.  I will post it.  The narrow road on the peninsula was more than a bit stressful, but all worth the effort.   Thanks, Adrienne.

Larry, you were definitely more determined than we were. i am not sure if you have figured it out but I am a New Zealander living in Japan. I too easily resign my self to 'next time'.

Larry, my hometown is Palmerston North although I lived in wellington for quite a long time. I don't know the South Island at all well. My beach images are of Foxton Beach and Oakura beach - places where I have family connections. AG
