new_zealand_landscapes 0 Posted June 16, 2012 This is a hard to find gem in New Zealand. All the best places are secrets, you can easy miss the turn off on to a gravel road to the beach. Many kilometers and turns later you find yourself on Napenape beach. It has limestone rocks and a white cliff face. Inland there are many fossils to find, but it is all closed due to the ongoing earthquakes we get here in Canterbury. I took hundreds of pictures from before dawn to late in the day, watched the moon rise and fall.I am looking forward to going back when work and kids permit me some space.I find the only way to get good pictures is plan ahead and get up very early or not at all, it is almost impossible to combine photography with family trips as I hold every one back with my constant requests to take a photograph.Enjoy my pictures, its has been a good learning experience being here on photonet, though sometimes I find it a mystery how images have been rated over the years. I wonder what some of history's great photographers would have made of the web and social sharing, I hope that it has improved photography. Link to comment

llgarcia 1 Posted June 16, 2012 John,I have seen some wonderful seascapes of NZ and this one definitely is just as wonderful. The pale-colored rock that is beautifully lighted takes me off to a good visual flow of the scene toward a nicely rendered water flow from a slow shutter and the nicely caught wave beyond is lovely. Beautiful tones and the clouds are so dramatic.Congratulations!Lester Link to comment
