I've yet to learn what these little bees are called, but they always

fascinate me. Today was to be overcast, rain in the morning, then

thunder showers later in the day. I decided to go out into the Garden

and see what was interesting. My neighbor had 2 blooms of

California Poppy that were still soggy from the rain, and one had this

visitor. It was a beautiful Poppy, so delicate. Most days it is very

breezy where our house is, so I had to wait till the poppy stopped

moving (which wasn't very often). Alf Baily gave me a hint the other

day, and said that if I set the Exposure Compensation Scale a bit

darker, that I would obtain a faster shutter speed, and also a bit

sharper image. It worked out quite well for most of my images. So I

have a big thankyou to Alf for his 'timely' advice. I was getting a bit

discouraged with my 'handheld' shots. I learned something

interesting about this little bee. Later on I was taking some images of

my 'soggy peonies' and I saw one on a leaf, and it was 'holding' a

black ant, and 'eating' it!!!! Hopefully the capture will be clear enough

to post. (many thanks for any visits, truly appreciate, Gail)

Good Morning Gail, I love the framed inner photo within the image. Thats a great technique. That Alf is full of great advice, he's given me good ideas more than once. Nice work with your usual elegant touches. Take care.

Very impressive work of art. Wonderful colors, textures, dof, and detail. The inner frame gives this a 3D look that I really like. The green part of the flower (stigma?) looks like it pops right out of the photo.

Gail,

creative as usual and this is 8. But I cannot due to system default + your contribution.

Kind regards

Bela Dick

Btw thanks for your comment, too.

Though we all know the relationship of this living structure to flowers, this is well photographed demonstrating such. Well presented, i like the framing and composition.

Another beautiful creation, Gail. Best regards!

I wonder how the fly is sharp and her surrounding blurred, like out of focus! Must be done a lot of work by my dear fellow artist who is very industrious!

Best regards my fellow artist!
