What du you think about this picture - I dident have a tripod, and

it was quite dark, and raining - so I shot this photo manually f:1,8

and shutter time 1/60, and hoped for the best!

What do You think about the light on the picture?

It works. The light is as much as this city can probably provide... Did you also try with longer exposure time? It would be interesting to give the bicyclist gostly appearence.

Hi Thomas - Thanks for the comment!. It is a really good idea whith the ghost biker! - i think i will try that some day. I shot the picture on my way home an evening, and I diden't have a tripod. Therefor I diden't dare to use a longer shutterspeed than 1/60. I thing the meter in my camera meassured the photo to be 1 or 1,5 stops under the optimal light.

The picture is very dark indeed, but I like it. It's really a ghostly atmosphere and the bicyclist seems to escape from something that chase him...

I like it as it is, without a ghostly biker :) I particularly like that little bit of white still left in the sky- I think it captures the mood (ie the dinner's waiting at home mood) It's also quite a clear image, considering it was raining! I think it'd be interesting to get a daytime shot with a red filter underexposed of the same scene.. it'll get people into your moonlit shot :) Good one!

I would have to agree - this exposure works for me. Indeed it would have been even more interesting with a longer exposure giving the cyclist a ghostly appearance. Imagine the church in the background and the ghostly rider coming towards it. I also wonder if you would frame the exposure slightly different were you to take it again. In any case, I like it.

This is really cool. To hell with ghostly cyclists. The technique gets tiresome. Sometimes clarity is a virtue.

nice ... it could be my town; everybody asleep at 7.00PM and a must be a cyclist who missed the last bus home.
