miran_jursic 0 Posted March 18, 2004 I think the first one in this map works best. I'm one of the KISS (Keep It...) photographers. This one has potential but, IMHO, it would work better without the bowl (the chineese letter is a bit distracting and it splits my eye attention); the same goes for the frost on the top two peppers. brendan_hohls 0 Posted March 25, 2004 I like this image a lot! Very graphic and bold use of colour. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 23, 2004 It just occurred to me that this is the only photograph in my 'Hot Stuff' folder that I didn't request a critique for! Your thoughts and comments are most welcome! Link to comment
Tuhin 2 Posted July 24, 2004 The chinese letters add character to the picture but those frosted chillies ( specially the middle one, burnt out ? ) disturbs a bit . Over all , kudos for a wonderful composition . Regards .. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 25, 2004 What you are seeing on the chillis is frost! I guess if you have to explain a picture then it doesn't really work but thanks for looking anyway! Link to comment
Tuhin 2 Posted July 25, 2004 .."if you have to explain a picture then it doesn't really work".. David , it would help me if you make it simpler , does your "explain" refer to this picture ? Why should I start explaining other's pictures , it was my liking for the chinese letters and a small query about the middle one . That's all. Please feel free and let me if I am making a mistake ( and of course you can ignore if you dont like to ). Regards .. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted July 25, 2004 Tuhin, I was not suggesting that you need to explain my OR any picture you see here. I was suggesting that if I were required to provide an explanation then maybe I have failed in portraying what I was trying to achieve. A picture is worth a thousand words..... or so it is said! As for the Chinese characters. Their meaning is 'Spring,' 'Summer,' 'Autumn' and 'Winter.' They are more appropriate to my Chilli picture featuring 4 different bowls of coloured chillis. Thanks for looking and thanks for commenting! Regards Link to comment
colorofthewind 0 Posted August 13, 2004 David, nice pic! Btw: how do you know the 4 Chinese words? Which one is "spring"? :) Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted August 13, 2004 The characters read from top left - top right and then from bottom left to bottom right. Spring Summer Autumn Winter Thanks for looking! Link to comment
