Beautiful image David, to me this is what Arizona is all about, I love the colours in the rocks you have handled the exposure well.

High on the sandstone cliffs above the Colorado River in the Grand

Canyon, the Anasazi built grain storage. Though not visible, the

grainery is just to the right and this is the magnificent view

downstream. Getting here in winter was no easy feat. On the North

Rim, a hike of 12 miles, the temperature was below zero (F) with

whiteout conditions limiting visibility to a few meters. But here,

in the depths of the canyon it was shirtsleeve weather during the

day.

Very nicely done. You did a good job of bringing out the details in the dark foreground while not blowing out the lighter background. And I love the clouds. They add a lot to the photo.

I missed this upload, just goes to show that one should not fall off one's perch for too long...

This is superb, David! Had the good fortune of going on a short day walk into the Canyon. Your image really captures that awesome feeling of being "in" the Canyon. Excellent control of lighting conditions!

Very nice David, you got a great view with a terrific colour palette to reward your hard work. Love that green in the bottom left - I feel like I want to see a litter more of that area.

Remarkable combination of shadow and lighted areas. Thanks for the background and conditions that you experienced to take this picture.

Good color and composition. It looks a little fuzzy though and some detail is lost in the shadows. Still a good photo though.

Last time I tried this in Southern AZ, I forgot about the cold and after several exposures, my hands got so cold I couldn't change lenses...A super picture, not done in the "standard" Grand Canyon perspective.

You put me right back in it. Thanks! Most beautiful place on earth, to me. Such a perfect photo. Lighting, balance, colour, dof. It's all right.

Really great shot!
