dilip 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Gorgeous shot! What effects did you use? I love the fading and yet realistic quality to the rose. Thanks for sharing your many lovely pictures! Link to comment
richard blount 0 Posted July 2, 2003 I agree with the previous comment, this is very nicely done, I love your flower pictures. This is so good and the painterly effect is perfect for it. The framing is nicely done too, well done. Link to comment
patricia_eifel 0 Posted July 2, 2003 I like the effect of this filter and agree that this photo is nicely suited to it. A couple of possible suggestions/comments: I tend to find the white in the upper left a little distracting-some green in that area might help to concentrate attention on the flower. Also - you might try a larger "feather" on the selection to make the transition a little more gradual. Overall, a very pleasing effect though. Link to comment
miller1 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Thanks for looking, rating & comments. Dilip...I don't know what effect I used. I do so much experimenting until I like it..I guess I should keep notes. Sometime I ask myself, now how did I do that other photo...& have no idea. Richard; As you can see, I've changed to darker frames,,,what do you think? I think they add some richness to my "silly" little flower photos. Patricia; You know, I didn't even notice that white area, I guess I got tired of looking at this rose & overlooked it. Thank you ..Boy! that's quite a discussion on the PN forum about Anna. I hesitated about uploading a flower photo & OMG! it ended up on TP page..I shall hang my head in shame...lol (Free Anna) Elizabeth Link to comment
miller1 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Dark frame on flowers or light. I think I'm beginning to like the darker ones,,,need some opinions. Thanks, Elizabeth Link to comment
g1 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Ok so flowers don't score high on originality, but sometimes I find them very aesthetic. It pretty much comes down to whether you enjoy shooting them or not. So, even if ratings aren't high, it shouldn't matter as long as you are learning, and flowers are great for experimenting, as well as easily accesible. Personally I adore flowers! This one I rated as average because the bottom flower intrudes too much, not so much the pink as the yellow area, weighing down the area from the centrepiece. Perhaps if the main flower had been offset from the centre the other flower wouldn't unbalance it? Link to comment
