greg,  rose is delightful,  especially like view into heart of rose through v shaped petals,  also like light on back two petals.  what really distracts, at least for me, is the bottom soiled or dying petal.  i downloaded and had a play,  but am also aware composition is a real personal part of ones images,  so am not going to tack on my remake of your image.  will say however think there are reasonable different possibilities to get more from this beautiful rose.  jude and i and 3 friends spent the day trying to clean up around the bath,  that surge did a lot of damage to rock wall,  not sure what we can do to protect.  a digger would tidy it all up in probably 1 to 2 hours.  problem is it would ruin our garden and would also have to take down wind break fence for it to even get there.  having digger barged in to beach would be astronomical in cost. hope your both well.
