ray watson 0 Posted July 1, 2003 Found this beautiful larva in my dill plants. Colors are really gorgeous. Comments/thoughts appreciated. Link to comment
ksetlur 0 Posted July 2, 2003 The photo is good with a sharp focus and good lighting (for the colours and the curves). The bottom left is a bit disturbing because the larva almost merges with the needles. Maybe a lower depth of focus could have helped?? Or, were the needles really close to the worm? - Keshava Link to comment
rp3o 0 Posted July 2, 2003 This is so sharp! The colors are very nice, too, and the dark background really helps! Good job! Link to comment
ray watson 0 Posted July 2, 2003 Thanks. Actually the needles were about an inch or so behind the larva. Link to comment
kaphn8d 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Ray, this is a magnificent photograph... extremely well done! Link to comment
ray watson 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Thanks for all the nice comments. It's funny how you can lug your cameras around for weeks on end with not much to show and then find something like this beautiful larva sitting in your garden 12 feet from the back door! (Although I wonder what the neighbours thing when they see me lying on the ground in the garden with my camera!!) hehe Link to comment
wenger 0 Posted July 3, 2003 Ray - Very nice extrememly sharp photo. The thing that bothers me more than the needles on the bottom left is the branch that disects the image in the background. This is just a nit though. Very nice shot. Link to comment
ray watson 0 Posted July 4, 2003 Thanks Thomas. I guess I could do shop photoshopping to clean it up but this is still the "untouched" version. Link to comment
mmmee 0 Posted July 8, 2003 Now this is a WOW. Terrific, electric colors on opening the thumbnail. I like the bits of leaves. Makes it look 'real'. The frame seems to suit it too. And I am fast becoming a non-fan of framing. Link to comment
