Mojave Desert Flora-Cholla (View Larger)

The Mojave Desert flora is very beautiful, if you take the time to

look at in small sections. In this micro landscape, a Cholla Cactus

and Yucca are featured. I like the way the spines of the Cholla light

up as the sun hits them from an angle and the way the dead Yucca

leaves spread out on the ground and resemble the skeleton of a hand

stripped of its flesh. This also a great spot for a rattle to lay and

wait for lunch or a dumb photographer!

I like the way you have focused in on a small area in what must be a vast landscape. I find the colours, textures and lines beautiful. Lovely shot.

I like the textures and shapes Leo.  Good eye.  Is that just a pinch of pixel bender?  Whatever it is, it's subtle and works well.

As John mentioned the focus on a relatively small area has really paid off. The diverse range of tones and textures become even more tangible in the larger view, you can almost reach out and touch them. Very well done!

Good eye Dominick, yes there is just a touch of the PB filter. Sometimes it adds a nice "smoothing" effect that I find quite pleasing. That's for your words of encouragement and stopping by.
