Wow Lester, I have never seen 'Star Fish' that big or as colourful! (that is what they are??) My the water must be very deep there when the tide comes in. A lovely capture and opportune timing on your part! So beautiful! Thankyou so much for posting, most sincerely, Gail

Nice exposure...no harsh sun, no dark shadows.  Great color pop...overall a pretty solid shot in my opinion.

Gail,

Yes, those star fishes are what they are. I researched on them after and found out they are the Pisaster ochraceus variety found in the Pacific Ocean. Tried to free them from the rocks but their hydraulic suction-like tentacles were just too strong. You are also right about the tide so that even if it was low tide the moment the waves come in was above knee. Had to set up the tripod real quick and time it.

Best regards!

John,

Thanks for your wonderful comments lately. Kind regards!

Bela, Michael & Wanghan,

I wanted a closer perspective but I had to brave the waves coming in so the timing was important too. A relatively overcast morning that gave the scene unharsh.

Thanks to all!

Lester

Lots of great contrasts here in terms of colour and textures. The shot is thoughtfully composed with the rock placed in the frame without breaking the horizon. I do like that title too!

Compliments!
