Kiani (native name is Suma) is a Bornean female orang-utan born

24/06/78. Highly intelligent she is often found gesturing and

interacting with Melbourne zoo's visitors.

Please help the endangered Sumatran and Bornean orang-utan by not

buying products with palm oil.

Thanks everyone, appreciate your thoughts on this. In this frame Kiani was reaching out to grab a climbing pole in her enclosure. The way the morning light was hitting her face and hand  made this image special for me and a moment I wanted to capture and share.

It is estimated that within the next ten years the Bornean and Sumatran orang-utan may become extinct from the wild if palm oil plantations continue to exist!
