gunnar1664882369 1 Posted June 3, 2012 You caught da Caravaggio´s light. It is a "deep" image with a wonderful scene. The contrast of light and dark area is impressive and gives some kind of dramatic mood. I like the image a lot. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 3, 2012 It is a great compliment, thanks a lot, as Caravaggio was one of the greatest painters of his time( begining of 17th century), and 'Chiaroscuro' ( light/shadow) was one of his well known skills and innovations. Thanks again!I'm glad that you felt the drama of this strong light, and shadow play. Link to comment
mbh 0 Posted June 3, 2012 Moody, beautiful interplay between the light and shadow. I see an internal struggle that can be seen externally in the tension in her ars, the shoulders, as she stairs down without focusing on what's outside, but rather her thoughts. I like the exposure of the dark, how it's not pitch black, how you can see subtle variations in the shadows. It's a lovely photograph. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted June 3, 2012 This is a really good one, Pnina, The contemplative demeanor is very well established through the use of light and the slumped posture of the figure. It echoes the work of some of the great photographers of the early 20th century. The softness of the tones and mood particularly remind me of Edward Steichen. Link to comment

wolfgangarnold 142 Posted June 4, 2012 nothing much to add to Gunnar, Mark and Jack - besides the wonderful light I love how the diagonals of her arms vaguely mirror the diagonal rays of light - an amazing photo. Link to comment
adan1 0 Posted June 5, 2012 Absolutely brilliant! As others have said, this echoes the work of earlier masters. Link to comment

tonyfrench 0 Posted June 6, 2012 Pnina, in addition to the wonderful light on her arms and chest, I really like the rich warmth of the sepia tones. When combined with the down-turned head and the fore arms resting on the cushion, it has a very spiritual and emotional impact. Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted June 7, 2012 Pnina, much has been written about the fascinating use of light in this image. I need not repeat. You have carved a niche in the gallery of Great Masters , with this classic image. To me it appears that she is in deep concentration and in commune with cosmic consciousness. This going to be my most favorite image. Link to comment

3m 0 Posted June 10, 2012 A gorgeous capture, Pnina and indeed deserving of all the praise written above. I can't really add much to that, except to say that I too really love the introspective mood you captured -- a very expressive photo... The lighting and handling of tones was wonderfully done. In my opinion, it is one of your very best compositions, Pnina. Bravo to you! Kind regards, Marjolein Link to comment

Donna Stavis 0 Posted June 12, 2012 Pnina, I commented but must have not pressed SEND. This is lovely, inspiring and makes the corporal form elevated into something sensual and spiritual. The lighting is lovely. The tendrils falling over her face are a delicate Link to comment
