This serene view of Lake Wakatipu appears noisier on PN than it is

offline. I also have a black and white version that I will post. I tried

to make the most of the mid-day photo problems by including the

bench that adds an element of balance and humanness. I think

the bench is more interesting empty than it would be with someone

sitting on it. Please share your comments. Thanks. Larry

Nicely done, Larry. I found myself in too many places in the middle of the day, too. Or couldn't get up early enough! Ah, well - next time.

Well composed..the bench makes it more interesting. It made me think about sitting on it and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

I think you have done well in controlling the harsh light of the mid day sun. I like the inclusion of the bench, but not sure if I agree that it looks more interesting empty, a human form can be very interesting in a landscape, particularly when he or she maintains that element of anonymity and mystery by looking away from the camera and into the landscape. Nice balance and composition!

Timo,  Thanks for your comment.  I actually prefer the B&W version of this site.  I just posted it on PN last night.  Although, I completely embrace the concept, New Zealand is the kind of place that enforces, "It's all about the journey, not the destination."  Thanks again, Timo.  Best to you.  Larry

Alf,  It's good to reconnect with you.  I do agree that a person in an image can have real impact.  I actually have an image of my daughter facing a lake in Olympic National Park that does what you suggest.  Till later.  Larry

Just love it! Interesting composition, pure colours, great view! I wouldn't mind at all to relax in that chair:) Have a great Summer! Tamara

Hi Tamara,  Thanks for looking at my images and commenting.  I have been perusing some of your Belarus images.  You photograph snow and trees well.  As I said in your images of crosses, your images communicate the message of a cold county with a bleak history.  Do you live in Belarus?  I know a number of immigrants from Minsk who emigrated to before 1991 when the Belarus was part of the Soviet Union.  Have conditions improved?  Larry

Hi Larry,

An amazing landscape of great beauty. In a way this white chair does not fit in and it is almost disturbing the peaceful scenery. On the other hand it adds a lot of humor to the picture. Well done.

best regards Per

Per,  Thanks for your visit to my image.  Yes, I have several shots from this spot that do not include the bench.  The bench adds an element of contrast and puts the human touch into the image.  To me, it completes the message of the scene.  Thanks again.   Larry

Wanghan,

Thanks,  you should consider a trip to New Zealand. It would be difficult getting you off of the South Island with its unlimited photo opportunities.

Best to you.  Larry

First I want to thank you for stoping by and leaving a comment for one of my photos. You not only left a comment but also did some editing and left for me a detailed information how you did improve the poto. Thanks a lot. Your time and advice is greatly appreciated.

I went true your amazing portfolio and this is my favourite photo of it. I like the white bench, I think it makes the picture more interesting . The one which first grab my attenion was the B&W copy, its really nice. I went several times between two of them and i think that this is the one which brings a relaxing feeling, the B&W brings kind of nostalgia to me.

Thanks again for your comment and advice.

Have a nice holidays and Happy New Year
