I really like the light balance that allows detail of the rock to be explored and aso that of the submerged stones in the foreground, did you use a polarisor filter to achieve this? The composition is interesting, with two worlds existing, before and beyond the rocky enclosure, and just a small gap linking them both. I also think the clouds have great definition and add interest to the image. I have had some interesting debates relating to the presence of "barriers" in photographs similar in composition, and some people may be of the opinion that the rocks in this scene represent just that a "barrier". Personally I don't see it like that, I see it as a communication of the textures, moods and character of the elements within the rocky enclosure, the outside being a further focus point that can be explored at will.  I also think its different from a lot of shore line photographs, the rocks themselves look imposing and powerful.  Suffice to say I like it very much.

Compliments!

Alf

Fully support what Alf has written. I really love the textures and the tones. The barrier really works for me. Well composed and executed. Best wishes for this original view, William

Thank you friends for insightful feedback, much appreciated.

Alf, Thank you so much for your nice analysis and very beneficial comment. I did not used polarizing filter here, and details under calm water is the result of long exposure mostly. Polarizers prevent reflections of the surface even with the amount achieved here. With the concept of the barriers, i realize the point of view, and as you cited nicely, the main subject here was the old textured rocks as "immortals" which had some vague resemblance to dinosaurs. These hard rocks appeared calmly juxtaposed to soft water in a very interesting event for me and i wanted to depict it. The capture is the result of two sets of three bracketed shots ( totally six ) in horizontal formats blended vertically as a pano.

Thank you again.

My best regards,

Hamid.

Hello Hamid, Absolutely perfect balance of all elements involved. I konw this may be trivial but I like the fact that I can see whats in the water in the FG reflection, to me it adds to the images persona. Take care.

Holger
