many thanks for stopping by and commenting. "Rose" is a classical - almost stereotype subject but I came across this and some other specimens in almost perfect condition, so I gave it a try.
Fred, you've well observed my ideas here - instead of simply depicting a rose, I wanted to convey a glimpse of the "movement" of the petals unfolding in an almost fractal pattern.
It looks like a sculpture of a rose.. I like the feeling of continuation in the BG. Very nice execution.Reminds me a nice stairwell... very good result instead the usual!
Amazing work, excellent shadows, colors, tones, composition....Bravo!
wolfgang, would have to agree with all of previous comments. is always so nice to see something with a bit of difference. really like the mix of black and red and how rose has appearance of fading into the black. very nice and original work.
Is interesting how you did this with contour of rose so nice seen, petals look so velvety with a attractive contrast with bg,compliments.
Really beautiful work with impressive lighting, Wolfgang!
Lovely, unique texture and lighting. A mood inspirer!
Hi Wolfgang. A very dynamic rose image! Wonderful capture of the red and tones and. Very well lit! Great work. Best wishes. Sarah.
Very moody, dreamlike (?) rendition of the classic flower. One's imagination can get lost in the spiral of the nicely-lit edges. The background petals are an abstraction that helps support the foreground, still suggesting that circular motion. The delicate lighting helps it move.
wolfgang, have came back for another peak at your wonderful image. the space between the petals is just electric, so much so that you can almost feel it. i am going to really enjoy viewing your work!
Pnina, Radu, Roger, Marjans, Gregory, Verena, Sarah,
big thanks for your favourable (and re-visiting, roger - I highly appreciate your positive feedback!)
