Somethings it's good to change your style and head off in another

direction. This is such an attempt, instead of darkening to accentuate

the position, I have used lightening. The flower was [photographed,

just after a shower, very early in the morning.

Nice treatment in the post process. Is anything gained by not having the focused flower right in the center? I'm not sure. What do you think?

 

Thank you and I believe the placement is ideal for what I wanted to display. Note that the out of focus flowers on each side of side of the main flower, they are, "whole" and add a nice symmetry to the overall composition. By centering the main flower, forgetting the rule of thirds, this symmetry would be lost. Also, because the flower is "leaning in" to the composition, it would have be cropped more and that would take away from the flow.
