Great shot of this beautiful bird.  I have a number of "portraits" of this guy, but have never been able to get one in flight.  They are very quick.  Your capture is amazingly good with a clear eye and beak.  Hard to get detail all over on this one because the body feathers are so dark.  Like the natural environment background and great wing position.  Nice job!

Thanks Phil! I was shooting frame after frame of this and another bird in the fields by a reservoir near me for hours. I wanted this shot bad. Not a particularly amazing bird, but I always liked them. Anyway, after about 8 passes that were within 30 yards, and 60 frames later, I found this beauty at home, as well as one other that was decent. They are indeed quick, but they fly at the same and steady speed. After a while, I got him! Thanks again.
